Types of Stained Concrete

Two general types of Jacksonville stained concrete services: water-based acrylics and acid-based chemical stains. Almost all acidic stains are a combination of water, acid-soluble metallic salts and hydrochloric acid. Our acid stains operate by chemically reacting and penetrating the surface with the hydrated lime (calcium hydroxide) in the concrete. Allowing and allowing metal salts to absorb more readily, the acid in the stain gently etches the paper. It becomes a natural and permanent feature of the concrete, and it will not melt or chip away as soon as the stain responds. The palette in acid-etch staining is usually limited to earthy shades such as browns, terra cottas, tans and light blue-greens. From top producers, we have a nice range of colors to pick from.

If you want to go much past the subtle drama and muted earth-tones palette of acid staining, consider our water-based stains, which come with a far wider range of colors. We sell hundreds of basic shades, including white and black, and even shiny tints. Like acid stains, water-based stains (usually a combination of acrylic polymers and pigments) infiltrate the concrete to create permanent colour, varying from transparent to opaque depending on the substance.

Types of Stain for Concrete

Both types of stain may be added from old and new and simple or integrally colored concrete. They are particularly useful for the revitalization of dark, shiny surfaces. Almost all stains have excellent wear resistance and UV resilience because they penetrate the
concrete flooring or other surface. They permit and permit their use on external or internal concrete.

Like wood stains, to reinforce rather than mask the paint, stained concrete is semi-transparent and expected. They can not conceal blemishes, holes or other faults in current concrete. They can not cover or disguise the underlying color by concealing and covering the texture of the paper.
